Publishing makes your content available to your apps. Until you publish, content exists only as a draft — visible in the CMS but not served to end users.

Publish content

Open the content you want to publish and click Publish in the inspector panel. That’s it — your content is now live. You can also right-click content in the list view and select Publish from the context menu.

Content status

StatusMeaning
DraftNew content, never published
PublishedLive and available to apps
ModifiedPublished before, but has unpublished changes

Requirements

Content can only be published if its content type is published. If the content type is still using the draft package, you’ll see a message explaining why publishing is disabled. To fix this:
  1. Publish a package with your components
  2. Update the content type to use that package version
  3. Publish the content type
  4. Now you can publish your content

Editing published content

When you edit published content, its status changes to Modified. The published version stays live until you publish again. This lets you work on changes without affecting what users see.

Discard changes

Made changes you don’t want to keep? Right-click the content and select Discard Changes to revert to the last published version. This is only available for modified content.

Version history

Every publish creates a new version. Click next to the content name and select View History to see previous versions. You can restore any previous version if needed.
